Congrats to you! I'm so excited to work with you on round 1. Have you done this before? I have not, so I'm a little clueless but anxious to get started.
ReplyDeleteHi, Kate! I am excited to work with you on Round 1, too! I have not done this before as it is also my first year, and am awaiting the instructions. Always feel free to contact me for any questions or assistance though. I'm sure we will both get the hang of it quickly.
DeleteI did YA Fiction many years ago, but I imagine this will be completely different. Keep an eye on the titles as the nominations come in, and start grabbing library copies if available - but don't go buy anything just yet, most publishers will send review copies. The YA chair had us each keeping lists we could share of our own top twenty, then narrowing it down every few weeks. In December we had a loooong group chat arguing the merits of our favorites until we reached a consensus on the short list. That was hard! I'm an OCD type, so I have already set up a spread sheet to be filled in with book titles, dates I read and re-read, and various notes. I think picture books will be harder to compare than YA was.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much, Ami! Your thoughts are entirely helpful! Thanks for stopping by My Word Playground.
